My home base is the Canadian city of Halifax, the capital of the Atlantic Province of Nova Scotia. As is true for most Canadians, our big pond hops start in and around London, England, so this jolly old spot seems a good place to start. But first, the lingo !

A pint of lager which is by far your best beer bang for the buck runs about a pound sixty to two pounds ten. Most pubs close at 11:00 PM (and we thought we had antiquated liquor laws ;) and then your drinking choices shrink drastically and begin to weigh heavy on your visa bill. If you're looking for action try a "Club", but be prepared to wait in a line (or "que"), pay a cover charge and shell out up to 10 bucks a beer ! Late night restaurants are a cheaper alternative if drinking is your primary motivater. You usually have to eat, but most will drop a snack plate on your table and feed your real habit.
